How It Works

The Chamelio Slack app connects your contract repository, policies, and playbooks directly to Slack channels. Business teams get instant answers while legal maintains full control and visibility.
  • Smart Legal Intake — Create custom Flows starting with Slack forms for submitting tickets and requests to the legal team. Each form routes to the appropriate workflow.
  • Conversational Legal Assistant — Add Chamelio to any Slack channel and mention @chamelio to ask legal questions. The AI searches your repository, policies, and playbooks to answer in the conversation thread.
The app uses Large Language Models (LLMs), which may occasionally generate inaccurate responses. Always verify critical legal information.

Installation

Access Integrations

Go to Settings > Integrations at app.chamelio.ai/settings?tab=integrations

Add Integration

Click “Add Integration”, then “Connect with Slack”

Sign in to Slack

Sign in to your Slack account when prompted in the browser

Choose Workspace

In the Slack pop-up dialog, use the menu at the upper right to select your workspace

Get Admin Approval (if needed)

If you’re not a Slack admin, click “Request” in the “Request to install” tab. You can continue setup while the request is pending.

Review Permissions

Review the required permissions and click Approve
Your Slack connection is only used to link your Chamelio and Slack accounts. No personal information from Slack is accessed or used without explicit permission.

  • Regularly review who has access to legal information
  • Follow your organization’s data governance policies
  • Be specific in your questions for better AI responses
  • Use clear, natural language when querying documents

Troubleshooting

Installation issues — Ensure you have the necessary permissions in both Slack and Chamelio. Contact your Slack workspace administrator for approval if needed. Integration not working — Verify the app is properly installed in your workspace and that permissions haven’t been changed. Test in a different channel or via direct message.
