Chamelio integrates with Google Drive and Microsoft SharePoint to simplify document ingestion. Users can browse and select files using a native file picker and upload them directly into Chamelio — no local download required.
This integration is for document ingestion only. Chamelio does not continuously sync, monitor, or mirror files after upload.

What It Enables

  • Open a file picker directly from Chamelio to browse Google Drive or SharePoint
  • Select and upload files without downloading them locally
  • Faster uploads, especially for large document repositories
  • Once uploaded, documents are managed entirely within Chamelio

What It Does NOT Do

  • Sync files between Chamelio and Google Drive or SharePoint
  • Reflect future changes made in Drive or SharePoint after upload
  • Push edits or metadata back to the source system
  • Monitor folders or automatically import new files

Enabling the Integration

Go to Settings > Integrations

Navigate to the Integrations tab in Chamelio Settings.

Enable Google Drive and/or SharePoint

Toggle on the integration(s) you want to use.

Authenticate

Sign in with your Google or Microsoft account when prompted.
Once enabled, the file picker option is available anywhere document upload is supported in Chamelio.

Security and Access

  • Users authenticate with Google or Microsoft when opening the file picker
  • Chamelio only receives access to files explicitly selected by the user
  • No background access to drives, folders, or libraries is maintained
  • Chamelio does not retain long-term access tokens for browsing your file systems
  • Files are stored and processed according to Chamelio’s standard security controls once uploaded

Permissions

  • Any Chamelio user with upload permission can use this integration
  • File access is determined by the user’s permissions in Google Drive or SharePoint — Chamelio does not grant additional file access
  • No additional admin approval is required beyond enabling the integration at the workspace level

Common Questions

Only files explicitly selected and uploaded through the file picker are stored in Chamelio. Chamelio does not retain access to your Drive or SharePoint beyond the upload session.
No. Once a document is uploaded, it is independent of the source. Changes in Drive or SharePoint are not reflected in Chamelio.
No. Files must be selected individually through the file picker. Folder-level sync is not supported.
No. It is one-way — for importing documents into Chamelio only.
