The DocuSign integration automatically syncs executed agreements from DocuSign into Chamelio’s smart repository. Documents are indexed, key data points are extracted, and a complete audit trail is maintained across the contract lifecycle.

Prerequisites

  • Admin access to your DocuSign account (for organization-level connection)
  • A Chamelio account with Admin permission
  • A defined filtering strategy for which DocuSign envelopes should sync to Chamelio

Phase 1: Connect DocuSign to Chamelio

Go to Integrations

Navigate to Settings > Integrations in Chamelio.

Select DocuSign Connect

Click DocuSign Connect, then Connect.

Authorize

Complete the OAuth authorization flow using your DocuSign admin credentials.

User-Level Connections (Optional)

After the org-level connection is established, individual users can add their own DocuSign connections via Settings > Integrations > DocuSign > Add User Connection. This is useful for tracking personal signing activity or for users who sign documents directly through Chamelio.

Phase 2: Configure Document Filtering

Contact the Chamelio team to establish filtering rules. Three options are available:
Filter by sender or recipient email addresses. Include or exclude specific emails or domains. Best for organizations with clear email domain separation between departments.
For complex requirements, work with your Chamelio legal engineer to define custom logic — including multiple custom field conditions, recipient patterns, and template-based filtering.

Phase 3: Historical Data Migration (Optional)

Load Existing Signed Documents

Chamelio can import your historical DocuSign envelopes using the same filtering logic from Phase 2. Notify the Chamelio team to initiate the process.

Selective Historical Import

For large DocuSign histories where you want to curate which legacy documents to import:

Request an envelope export

Ask the Chamelio team for an Excel export of all available DocuSign envelopes with metadata.

Mark envelopes to import

Add a column to the Excel file marking each envelope as Yes or No for import.

Return the file

Send the annotated Excel file back to Chamelio. Only marked envelopes will be imported.

What Happens After Setup

Once connected and filtering is configured:
  • New completed envelopes sync automatically based on your filtering rules
  • Documents are analyzed and indexed in the smart repository
  • Key data points are extracted and made searchable
  • Executed agreements are accessible alongside all other contract intelligence in Chamelio
