Overview

The Generate step creates a document from a template, using data collected earlier in the flow.

Use When

  • You need the flow to produce a document automatically (a contract, an agreement) rather than have someone draft it manually

Configuration

  • Select template — choose a template and, optionally, a specific Template version; click Add template to generate from more than one template in the same step
  • Split documents — toggle; generates a separate document for each selected template instead of combining them
  • Results — Result Type (e.g. Word) and Document name (supports inserting flow variables)
The exact template-authoring syntax (how a template’s placeholders reference flow data) wasn’t independently confirmed in this pass — treat the old doc’s {{fieldName}}-style examples as unverified rather than a confirmed spec. What is confirmed is the step’s own configuration: template selection, split-documents, and the result type/name.
