The Agent Builder is the chat panel on the left side of the workflow editor, sitting alongside the visual canvas where your flow’s steps and connections appear. Instead of manually dragging and configuring every step, describe what you want in plain language and the agent drafts the workflow for you, step by step. When you open a new or existing flow, the panel starts with a prompt box labeled “Ask me to follow-up…” Typing a request — like asking what the agent can help with — produces a response outlining the workflows it can build: contract workflows, request and approval flows, document generation, review and negotiation processes, and compliance checks.

Giving the Agent Context

Four icons above the message box let you enrich a request before sending it:
  • + (Add context) — reference existing content: contracts, playbooks, templates, users, and your document vault, so the agent pulls in real data instead of guessing
  • Flow variable — reference a value that changes depending on how the workflow runs
  • Select step — point at a specific node on the canvas so edits focus there, not the whole flow
  • Sparkle wand — enhances your prompt with AI-powered suggestions if you’re not sure how to phrase it

Managing the Conversation

An eraser icon at the top of the panel clears the current chat to start fresh. A collapse arrow hides the panel to give the canvas more room, with a matching arrow on the canvas side to bring it back.

Working Alongside the Canvas

The Agent Builder works with the visual canvas, not instead of it. A toggle above the canvas switches between View mode (reviewing the flow as-is) and Edit mode (making direct changes). Use the agent to draft or adjust steps, then switch to Edit mode to fine-tune details — or add steps directly from the canvas using the + button between nodes, which opens the step library (Agent, Generate, Notify, Negotiate, Sign, Collect, Customization, Condition).
