# Managing Data Extraction from Your Contract

> Add, configure, and refine the fields Chamelio extracts from your contracts

Manage data extraction fields under **Settings → Fields**, where every extracted field is listed.

From here, you can add a new field from Chamelio's field library, configure its label, description, and which document types it applies to, and choose whether to run it retroactively on existing contracts. You can also create a fully custom manual field by writing a prompt to extract specific data, validating the output against sample documents before saving, and edit prompts for existing global or custom fields to refine extraction results across the repository.
