# Hiding Steps from the Requester

> Use Step Visibility Controls to keep internal steps out of the requester's view

Complex workflows often involve behind-the-scenes actions that don't need to be seen by the requester. Step Visibility Controls let you hide specific stages of a flow to create a cleaner, more focused experience.

## What this gives you

* **Less progress fatigue** — hide administrative or automated "shadow steps" so the requester only sees meaningful milestones
* **Internal privacy** — keep sensitive internal review cycles or departmental hand-offs invisible to external parties
* **Full control** — a toggle in the Flow Builder Settings page decides which steps are Public and which are Internal-only
