# Configure Knowledge Center General Settings

> Control how Chamelio determines active/executed status, splits uploads, and prioritizes main agreements

Control how Chamelio determines whether agreements are active or executed, splits uploaded documents, and chooses main agreements when linking related documents.

## Getting Started

Open **Settings**, then select **General** under Knowledge Center. Click **Save Changes** after updating your preferences.

## Keep Auto-Renewing Agreements Active

Enable **Activate based on auto-renewal** to keep agreements with auto-renewal active even after their current term ends. An auto-renewing agreement stays active unless you upload a termination notice or manually mark it Inactive.

## Set Signature Requirements for Executed Documents

**Signature enforcement** controls the minimum signature level required before Chamelio considers a document executed:

* **Any**
* **Signed once** — at least one signature required
* **Two signatures** — at least two signatures required

## Automatically Split Uploaded Documents

**Split documents on upload** separates a single uploaded file into individual documents by source and target document type — useful when one file contains multiple documents you want to manage separately.

<Warning>
  Splitting may produce additional documents and require additional AI processing, increasing document and AI operation consumption.
</Warning>

## Choose Which Agreements Take Priority When Linking

**Document link preferences** controls which document types are eligible to serve as the main agreement when Chamelio links related documents, and their priority during matching.

<Steps>
  <Step title="Add eligible types">
    Under Eligible main agreements, click **Add agreement type** and select the types to include.
  </Step>

  <Step title="Set priority order">
    Use the reorder handles to arrange types from highest to lowest priority — for example, placing a Master Services Agreement above an Order Form.
  </Step>

  <Step title="Save">
    Remove any types that should no longer be eligible, then click **Save Changes**.
  </Step>
</Steps>

<Info>
  The order guides matching — it does not simply change how documents are displayed. To see how related documents are grouped under their main agreement, see [Consolidated View](/features/core/consolidated-view).
